As SVP, Distribution Business Development for A+E Networks, Richard oversees the deployment of A+E content on pay-tv partners’ digital platforms.  Specializing in product development, delivery infrastructure and distribution strategy, Richard has helped position A&E, HISTORY, Lifetime and other A+E Networks’ brands as leading destinations for multiplatform viewing.  He has also provided cross-department leadership for the rollout of initiatives such as dynamic ad insertion, authentication on A+E Networks’ websites and mobile apps as well as live linear streaming.  In addition, Richard has leveraged his extensive operations knowledge serving as a lead participant in the negotiation of carriage agreements with all major pay-tv distribution partners in the U.S. and Canada.

 

Richard joined A+E Networks in 2005 as Manager, VOD Marketing.  Prior to joining A+E Networks, he served as Manager, Business Development for Fujisankei Communications International, a New York-based subsidiary of top-rated Japanese broadcaster FUJI Television.

Richard is a graduate of CTAM’s Cable Executive Management program and has represented A+E Networks on several cross-industry working groups including The Internet & Television Association’s (NCTA) TV Everywhere task force.  He is a passionate tennis player and skier and volunteers time coaching young professionals on resume-writing, interviewing and other career-building skills.  Richard received a BA in Japanese Studies from Bucknell University and an MBA in Finance from New York University.
