CHEY BLAKE is an experienced media and entertainment attorney with broad-based transactional expertise. A seasoned negotiator in content production, licensing and multi-platform distribution, she is the founder of CHEYBLAKELAW, a New York based media and intellectual property law firm.
Most recently, Chey was General Counsel at CH Media, handling all business and legal affairs for CollegeHumor's various business units, including production, digital and subscription distribution of award-winning content. Previously, Chey spent 14 years at A+E Networks, where she headed Legal & Business Affairs for the Home Entertainment and Consumer Products divisions, responsible for merchandising, digital media and other off-network brand and content exploitations. Before going in-house, Chey was an associate at the law firms of Franklin, Weinrib, Rudell & Vassallo, specializing in media and entertainment transactions, and Mack, Williams, Haygood & McLean, specializing in labor and employment law.
Chey has taught Entertainment Law as an Adjunct Professor at the NYU School of Professional Studies, and currently serves on the Board of Directors of Manhattan Neighborhood Network (MNN), a non-profit organization providing public access television networks, media education and production facilities in New York City.
She is a member of both the New York State Bar and the State Bar of Georgia, and received her B.A. from Northwestern University, and her J.D. from The University of Michigan Law School.
